Bigfoot in Canada
(Francis Tuttle Technology School Project)
In this project my instructor had us create an infographic for a topic of our choice and provide two different media size variations. For this project I decided to do an infographic about one of my favorite cryptids, Bigfoot. When researching inspiration pictures of similar work I noticed that all of the existing Bigfoot infographics on Bigfoot I found were all data sourced from The United States. I thought that if I was going to do an infographic about Sasquatch sightings then why not do it about the country in which the name "Sasquatch" originated from, Canada?
Pictured above is my web variant of this project. I started off with this variant because I felt like it would be the best as far as establishing designs. Believe it or not the web variant took me the longest to work on. Can you guess what took me the longest on it? Collecting the data? Making the timeline? Organizing all the elements? Nope, it was organizing all those pie charts into that huge foot!
Okay so I love how both variants turned out but in my opinions the mobile variant is my favorite of the two! After the establishing most of the graphics and elements used in the web variant the mobile variant was a lot easier to put together and frankly, more fun. When making this variant I wanted to make sure to keep the same information as in the web variant but I knew it needed to have a different layout. I thought a great way to do this would be to separate each section by wooden signage to keep up that outdoorsy feel.
So as you can see this project used a whole bunch of layers. So many you cant even view the whole list in the layers panel! Let's just say my laptop from 2016 was gasping for air by the end of this! Heck, this doesn't even show the graphics I made that I decided do scrap.
Same for this variant I had many many layers. In this screenshot you can see my color swatch! When choosing the colors I wanted to make sure to stick to a very outdoor and woodsy feel. plus green is my favorite color so win/win!
